The Regimental CWO - K.M. Olstad, MMM, MSM, CD

    Chief Warrant Officer Olstad enrolled in the Canadian Forces on the 2nd of August 1986. After completing recruit and basic training at The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle School in Garrison Petawawa, he was posted to Kapyong Barracks, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and assigned to The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment.
    During his 33 years of service, he has served in the 1st and 3rd Regimental Battalions, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle School, Land Forces Central Area Training Center, 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, and most recently 4th Canadian Division.
Chief Warrant Officer Olstad has six operational deployments overseas. In 1991, he deployed with The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, Mike Company to Doha, Qatar for the first gulf War, while serving in Baden, Germany. In 1994, he deployed to Balkins with The 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, Charles Company. In 2003, he deployed again to the Balkins with The 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, Bravo Company. He deployed to Afghanistan as part of TF 3-06 and TF 3-08 with The 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment and The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment in 2006 and 2008. His most recent deployment was to Baghdad, Iraq from May 2015 to July 2016, as part of the Corps HQs CJ7 and Sergeant Major for the Canadian led Ministerial Liaison Team.
    Throughout his career, he has been employed in many positions to include Rifleman, Section Commander, Platoon 2IC, Anti-Armour 2IC, Battalion Training Warrant Officer, Company Quarter Master, Company Sergeant Major, Drill Sergeant Major of The 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, Regimental Sergeant Major of The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, Brigade Sergeant-Major of 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, and most recently the 4th Canadian Division Sergeant-Major as of 01 June 2018.
